On May 30th 2011 at 16h00, the yearly Prize for General Cultural Merits will be awarded at C-Mine Genk, by Flemish Minister of Culture, Mrs. Joke Schauvliege. The award is a design of Johan Tahon.
On May 8th at 16h00, Johan Tahon's 2,5m high bronze sculpture Offer will be inaugurated at the Rohrmeisterei-Plateau in Schwerte, Germany. The sculpture was acquired by the Kunstverein of Schwerte, where Tahon exhibited last year on the occasion of Ruhr2010.
Everybody is very welcome to join us at the inauguration that will be introduced by Mr. Arie Hartog, director of the Gerhard Marcks Haus in Bremen, Germany.

Director Luc Lemaître was nominated for the Gouden Klaproos 2011. This year the award ceremony will be held on March 21st in the Zuiderkroon in Antwerp. Lemaître was nominated with two documentaries: "Het Detail van de Waanzin", a penetrating portrait of the Antwerp painter Sam Dillemans and "Een Gebed in Gips", a view into the world of Johan Tahon that has recently been broadcasted on Canvas.
