BIOGRAPHY
Johan Tahon was born in Menin (Belgium) in 1965. He lives and works in Sint-Denijs-Boekel (BE). He studied sculpture at the Ghent Royal Academy of Fine Arts (BE).

AWARDS AND HONORS
King Filip of Belgium visited the exhibition 'Universus / Johan Tahon / Sculpturen 1999-2021' at the MOU Museum in Oudenaarde on September 21, 2021.
Johan Tahon has made a ceramic sculpture for Pope Francis on the occasion of the Ignatian year. He was allowed to personally present it to the Pope during a private audience on
May 10, 2021 in the Vatican. The sculpture 'Métanoia' received by the Holy Father will be part of the Vatican Museums.
On November 23, 2018, Tahon received an award of the honorary citizenship of Zwalm, where he lives and works.
On December 9, 2017, Tahon received an award of the honorary citizenship of Menin, his birthplace.
